The Penong West Westbound Rest Area Nullarbor Plain is a small roadside stop immediately next to the Eyre Highway where you can pull off for a rest or an overnight stop if travelling in a fully self-contained recreational vehicle (RV). Camping in tents is permitted, but not recommended. There are no facilities at the Penong West Eastbound Rest Area, other than a few picnic tables, some shade and rubbish bins. Pets are OK if kept on a lead and under control at all times. There is good mobile phone coverage. There are a few gravel tracks that lead back further away from the road. This location is also known as the Cohen Rest Area.
