The Lake Cowan Rest Area, Nullarbor Plain is a popular overnight stop located off the Eyre Highway. It has limited facilities and is suitable only for fully self-contained vehicles. It has a rubbish bin and plenty of room to park, with a few scattered picnic tables. There is limited shade, and a few firepots. Dogs are OK, but must be kept under control and on a lead at all times. The Lake Cowan Rest Area is close to the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway so you may experience road noise if sleeping overnight. The Lake Cowan Rest Area, Nullarbor Plain has level gravel surfaces with a few small trees that offer some shade. You can park further away from the main road ,on a few short tracks into the bush if you are confident maneuvering your van.
